A SHIPPING LEGACY
SINCE 1961
In 1961, shipping legends Clifford Mallory and Otto Glander founded CD Mallory & Co. in New York. The company emerged from a family history of successful shipowners and ship brokers that spanned six generations. It was renamed Glander International in 1980 upon Mallory’s retirement.
Glander International Bunkering became the birthplace of the bunker broker and contributed to the development of the worldscale system, which is still used today by shipowners and charterers when bidding on a charter. The company was also the first US brokerage to have a full-time telex operation in London.
After moving to Florida in 1991 and merging with International Bunkering Middle East in 2013, the company’s growth accelerated with offices in the US, UAE, India and Singapore. Today, Glander International Bunkering operates from 9 locations that celebrate its deep maritime roots with a vision for the future.
